Clothier Contributory Program

Each member will be gifted a cotton belt favor with the AE Clothier’s badge embroidered on it. This is yours to wear on your person (however you like) as a guild member.

If you wish to participate in this program, you may choose to collect points and apply them towards your ranking. When you graduate from one rank to another, you may remove your patch and reapply it  (or hand embroider a new one) to a new fabric base that represents your ranking.

For this list “clothier-related” (CR) will refer to items worn on the body or used to adorn clothing.

The purpose of this points system is to encourage participation that…

  1. supports the guild
  2. supports the kingdom by way of CR services and projects.
  3. encourages community through the sharing of art and knowledge

The Clothiers Guild values accessibility and we make no distinction between teaching at your local A&S night and at the Society level. While individual projects are encouraged, they must be shared in some way in order to earn Contributory Points. For example, a hat made for one’s personal wardrobe earns points when it is entered into a display, or the documentation is shared so others may learn from it. Likewise the same hat can be donated to largess for points, but the act of making projects alone is not rewarded.

This Clothier Contributory Program is designed to stack, so for example if you donate a set of buttons to enter into a guild sponsored largess competition you will receive 1 point for making largess, 1 point for participating in a competition and another point for participating in a guild sponsored project which would total 3 points. If you place, you would receive an additional 4 points (because the competition is guild-sponsored), bringing your total to 7 points for the activity.

Your ranking will be kept by the Guildmaster and publicly listed on the Guild website. To update your ranking, email clothiers_guild@aethelmearc.org with “RANKING UPDATE: <Name here>” in the subject line, and the itemized participation list you wish added to your ranking in the body of your email.

Points will be backdatable to the founding of the Clothier’s Guild at Pennsic 51 2023.

You can view your ranking on our public database here.
